Salvia Might Soon Be Banned

Nov 30, 2008 Author: Annie | Filed under: General

Anyone wanting to buy Salvia really had better get on and do it soon. Not only are individual States in the US closing the net on Salvia, but the Federal government is considering doing it, too. Once that happens it is game over for anyone wanting to buy Salvia and stay on the right side of the law.

That being said, it is worth pointing out that anyone wanting to buy Salvia – whether on the web or in ‘real life’ – is still legally allowed to do so. This with the slight caveat that you mustn’t live or even pass into one of those states that has decided to ban the hallucinogenic plant.

The threat of a potential ban is not only bad news for those of us that would like to buy Salvia legally, but also those scientists and medical researchers that want to see if they can realize some of Salvia’s latent potential. Many experts believe that by examining Salvia we may find out more about degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and even many psychological problems. There is so little known about Salvia that extensive research is the only way find out if it can be of help to us in these areas.

Where to buy the best Acai berry?

Nov 29, 2008 Author: Laura | Filed under: General

If you’ve heard of acai and you’re interesting in trying to buy acai then you are certainly in great company: so many people are trying to buy acai now that it is almost inconceivable that the fruit was barely heard of just a few short years ago. The success has been due to a series of fairly lucky media reviews from prominent broadcasters like Oprah Winfrey. What Oprah says, goes; when she tells us that acai is the world’s most potent super food then you can bet that sales will rocket.

And rocket they did, with everyone trying to figure out where to buy acai. Then, as now, the best place from which to buy acai is online. The choice online is great and hopefully you’ll be able to do some checks on just what it is you’re going to spend your hard earned cash. It goes without saying that everyone wanting to buy acai should remember that some products are a lot better than others.

And you will have to buy one of these products if you want to buy acai: there is no way you’re going to get some of the berries in their initial state (i.e. berry shaped) simply because they don’t last for very long in this shape after they have been picked.

Oprah recommends the Acai Berry

Nov 24, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: General

The acai berry has shot to fame recently, and has done so through the most prestigious of sponsors: Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah’s recommendation of a book — ‘The Perricone Promise’ by Dr. Nicholas Perricone — has meant that the food highlighted as the world’s number 1 super food — yes, it’s the acai berry — has become an essential part of many peoples’ diet. This transition from simple berry harvested in the Brazilian rain forest to national hero has been rapid.

It was not only Oprah and Dr. Perricone who helped the acai berry make this ascension up the ladder of fruit: the New York Times has been on the case, and even family doctors have started to recommend the consumption of the acai berry — or more properly one of the many products made from the acai berry or its extracts — in order to aid fitness and general well being.

The acai berry may have started off as something of a fad within certain health food circles — indeed people had been using acai berry for many years before Oprah brought it to the nation’s attention — has become a well grounded national obsession. If it makes people fitter and more healthy then why not. Good luck to the little acai berry, I say!

What are the benefits of Acai supplements?

Nov 16, 2008 Author: Laura | Filed under: General

Since the rapid rise to fame of acai and the benefits of acai berry supplements became known, people are taking up the little fruit — and the many products that are made from it — for a variety of reasons. One of the most compelling reasons to start introducing the benefits of acai supplements into your diet is the effect it has on preventing the aging process. This does not mean to say that the benefits of acai berry supplements will prevent you from aging, but that it will prevent the physical effects of aging from appearing so early in your life.

Naturally any substance that can prevent wrinkles and sagginess is going to be popular. But acai and acai supplements can help to do much more than this.

It is thought that the ingredients in acai that help us the most — antioxidants and healthy mono unsaturated fats — will help to prevent the mental symptoms of aging, too. Doctors are even recommending the benefits of acai berry supplements to their patients to get and stay healthy.

It is not just the producers, the promoters and a few well known celebrities that are starting to laud acai with praises, it is newspapers and magazines all over the world; it is eminent nutritionists, scientists and doctors. Such a fuss over a little fruit? Acai is not ‘just’ a little fruit: it is the world’s greatest super food.

Love For Salvia Is Growing

Nov 16, 2008 Author: Annie | Filed under: General

I am a regular Salvia user and I am thrilled to hear that scientists are really interested in my favourite hallucinogenic drug. I thought that this might mean that the US government and the state politicians would reconsider the many moves that are afoot to ban the substance from use. I was wrong, of course.

But it is still a good thing, and it should help to win Salvia some support from those individual people that have not yet been brainwashed by lawmakers and the media. The brainwashing is really quite an irrational thing and it smells to me a lot like posturing in order win political points. But hey, what do I know, I’m only a long time user.

I support the continued legality of Salvia not just because I enjoy using it; my reasons, thankfully, are slightly more involved than that. Think of it this way: banning something like Salvia that has always been legal – in fact has been totally overlooked by the law until very recently – starts a terrible precedent of the Government willingly taking our civil liberties from us. Where does it end?

The other reason is that those scientists and doctors that I spoke about earlier need the law on their side to be able to complete their research.

Acai is a natural super food

Acai preserves is one of the best ways to get acai goodness into your body. Not only does it preserve the nutrients of the acai fruit pretty much as it was when it left the true, but it also tastes remarkably similar to chocolate syrup. Acai preserves maintain the antioxidant properties of the acai berry because there is so little processing required: the fruit is bundled into a glass jar and some natural cane sugar added. The natural breakdown of the berry makes acai preserves in very quick time.

Acai preserves are a deep purple color — the natural color of the acai berry — and look really, really appetizing They taste just as good, though, so that’s okay! The texture of the acai preserves is a solid puree. The preserve itself is any up to 99% pure acai berry; you can see from this statistic that it is a great option if you want — but can’t get — the real thing.

The acai preserves are not usually treated with chemicals at any processing plant, nor is there any need to freeze them before they can be shipped. The short and long of it is that acai preserves preserve the acai fruit in as near its natural form as is possible.

Acai juice is a great thing

Nov 11, 2008 Author: Laura | Filed under: General

The acai is the best thing to hit for quite some time. If you’ve not heard of acai yet then you will soon: acai fruit is the latest – and most definitely the greatest – super food since blue berries. Unfortunately you will not be seeing packs of acai fruit any time soon: the fruit degrades so quickly after its harvest that it is impossible to get it in this state anywhere outside the initial growing region.

Fortunately though the clever distributors that deal with acai have thought of some clever ways to get acai to us in as near to its natural state as possible. One of my favorite methods in this respect is acai juice. Acai juice is basically just crushed acai berries in a delicious drink. What a great idea!

Acai juice has many advantages – advantages even over the fruit in its initial state – including, importantly, convenience. If you’re planning on getting as much acai juice into your diet as you can then you can take it to work with you. How’s that for convenience?

You will instantly see that acai juice is preferable to acai pills or acai powders. Why on earth would you choose these instead of the real thing?

The Acai diet is popular with good reason

Nov 9, 2008 Author: Laura | Filed under: General

Acai berries have increased their popularity and global reach on an almost exponential basis over the last few years. This is of no surprise to the populace of the area in the Amazon basin who have for many years considered the acai berry as something of a panacea. Their love of the berry is fortunate, since it makes up 42% of the food consumed in the region.

A acai diet is something of an enigma, too. The acai diet has become much more popular, with many manufacturers promoting acai juice and frozen acai pulp as an aid to losing weight and staying fit.

Why don’t acai berries come in their natural form? Wouldn’t it be great if we could purchase then in the local grocery? This isn’t likely to happen any time soon due to the extremely rapid way in which acai berries degrade after they have been picked. Those of us on an acai diet will just have to be content with acai juice for now. Of course the juice is invariably delicious; this makes the compromise much easier to swallow. Literally.

There are powdered versions of acai berries and even acai in pill form. These are purported to help an acai diet as well as the berry in its natural form. Definitely not recommended. Why would you go for this over the ‘real’ alternative?

Monavie is sold through a multi-level marketing program

Nov 8, 2008 Author: Laura | Filed under: General

If you’re an active dieter or you read up on health literature, then you will have heard of acai berries. If you have heard of acai berries then you will have heard of acai juice: this juice is the best way to get acai goodness into your body.

So where do you get this acai juice from? A quick Google search will reveal a number of sources. One of these sources is a juice called Monavie that is manufactured by Monarch Health Sciences. This Monavie juice has been the subject of much criticism and controversy over the past two years. Suffice to say it’s probably not the best product out there!

First up was in investigation into Monavie and the parent company because of the claims they were making about the juice’s benefits. Monavie’s claims were challenged by doctors and nutritionists who pointed out — rightly — that they were largely unproven.

Next up was criticism from consumer boards who didn’t like the fact that Monavie — purportedly an acai juice — contained very little acai indeed.

By now the chance for Monavie to recover had been lost, and far more competent rivals like Amazon Thunder have been stepping up to the plate to assume the role of market leader.
